2. General Information and Legal Bases

We process personal data only on the basis of legal provisions (GDPR, BDSG, TDDDG). Depending on the processing, we rely on: your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR), the fulfillment of a contract or pre-contractual measures (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR), the fulfillment of legal obligations (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c GDPR) or our legitimate interests (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR). For storing and accessing information on your device, § 25 TDDDG also applies.

3. Hosting and Shop System (Shopify)

This website is operated on the e-commerce platform Shopify. The provider is Shopify International Limited, Victoria Buildings, 2nd Floor, 1–2 Haddington Road, Dublin 4, D04 XN32, Ireland. When you visit our shop and place orders, personal data (e.g., order, contact and payment data, IP address, browser data) is processed on Shopify's infrastructure. We have a data processing agreement with Shopify (Data Processing Addendum). Transfers to third countries may occur; these are carried out on the basis of appropriate safeguards (e.g., EU Standard Contractual Clauses or – where applicable – an adequacy decision). 4. Server Log Files

When you access the website, information automatically transmitted by your browser is recorded (server log files): browser type and version, operating system used, referrer URL, hostname of the accessing computer, time of the server request, and IP address. This data is not merged with other data sources. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR; we have a legitimate interest in the technically flawless presentation and security of our website.

5. Cookies and Consent (Consent Tool)

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies. We set technically necessary cookies, which are required for the operation of the shop and the ordering process, without consent on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR or § 25 para. 2 TDDDG.

Currently, we do not use any cookies or technologies for statistical or marketing purposes. Should we use such non-essential technologies in the future, we will only do so if you have previously consented via our cookie banner. The legal basis will then be Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR in conjunction with § 25 para. 1 TDDDG. Any given consent is voluntary and can be revoked at any time with effect for the future.

6. Order Processing

When you place an order, we process the necessary data (name, address, email address, order and payment data) to fulfill the purchase contract. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR. To comply with tax and commercial retention obligations, we also process certain data on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c GDPR.

7. Payment Service Providers

We use external payment service providers to process payments. The data required for payment is transmitted to the selected provider so that they can process the payment. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR (contract fulfillment); with regard to the use of secure payment methods, also Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.   • PayPal – PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A., 22–24 Boulevard Royal, 2449 Luxembourg.
  • Klarna – Klarna Bank AB (publ), Sveavägen 46, 111 34 Stockholm, Sweden. If a Klarna payment method is selected, Klarna may carry out an identity and credit check to decide on the payment method. Arovo has no influence on this; Klarna's privacy policy applies.
  • Credit Card / Shopify Payments – card payment is processed via the payment service integrated into Shopify; card data is transmitted directly to the payment processor.

8. Shipping

To deliver the ordered goods, we forward the necessary address and contact data to the commissioned shipping or logistics company. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR.

We work with DHL for shipping. The provider is DHL Paket GmbH, Sträßchensweg 10, 53113 Bonn. The data required for delivery (name, delivery address, and, if tracking is used, email address) is transmitted to DHL. DHL's privacy policy applies.

9. Contact

If you contact us by email, we process your information to handle the request. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR, if your request is related to the fulfillment of a contract or is necessary for pre-contractual measures, otherwise Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR (processing of inquiries).

10. Right of Withdrawal Form

You can withdraw from your purchase contract via our online withdrawal form. We process the data entered there (name, email address, order number, and possibly other details) to process your withdrawal and confirm its receipt. The form is technically provided via Shopify. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b and lit. c GDPR.

11. Newsletter and Email Marketing

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we process your email address to send you information about new fragrances, offers, and news. The registration is done via a double opt-in procedure: after your registration, you will receive a confirmation email with which you confirm your registration. This ensures that the registration genuinely comes from you. As part of the registration, you may receive a one-time discount code for your first order.

The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time, for example, via the unsubscribe link at the end of each email or by sending a message to kontakt@arovo.eu. By unsubscribing, you revoke your consent with effect for the future. The newsletter is sent via the email function integrated into Shopify.

You have the following rights: right to information (Art. 15 GDPR), right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR), right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR), and right to object to processing based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR (Art. 21 GDPR).
